Life is scary sometimes. It’s unpredictable, it’s hard, it’s gut-wrenching, and it’s wonderful; all at the same time. It will throw you for a loop when you least expect it, it will kick you harder than you could’ve ever imagined, it will take you on a ride you did not stand in line for, and it will break your heart.
But that’s the wonderful part. Despite the devastating storms you stand in, you get stronger. And you find out who your friends are.
This fun shoot with Ashley inspired me to share my thoughts on the importance of having women friends. So, enjoy! <3
Women friends…not to be confused with girlfriends. Girlfriends will take you out and get you drunk to help you forget the boy who forgot about you. Women friends will lift you up in prayer, talk you through your pain, and hug you when you don’t even think you want a hug.
Girlfriends will tell you you’re pretty. Women friends will remind you of your worth. They will tell you they’re proud of you and your accomplishments. They’ll stick by your side, ride out the waves, and wait for your sun to shine again. (Because it will. It’ll shine again.)
Girlfriends will be your biggest fans when you’re of use to them. But where are they when you need them? Just consider those your t-shirt fans, sister. Your women friends are ride or die. They’re your real fans!
Girlfriends gossip. Women friends focus on themselves. The world is cruel enough; don’t waste your time putting others down. Karma has a funny way of handling shitty people anyway.
So despite the storm you’re standing in, cling to your faith; and hell, you might as well dance in the rain.
Just don’t push those women friends away. You’re going to need them someday!
