Eyelash Extensions | Fit is Chic

Two little words, my friends — Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash Extensions | Fit is Chic

Let me be clear, I’ve never had a problem with my natural lashes; they’re great. But eyelash extensions are so.much better.

Eyelash Extensions | Fit is ChicAnd here’s a few reasons why:

Reason #1 — NO MORE MASCARA. Seriously, you don’t have to wear it! In fact, you’re encouraged NOT to wear it. It’ll make the extensions last longer.

Reason #2 — You’ll wake up feeling really, really pretty. And it’s really, really fun.

Reason #3 — You don’t have to wear as much eye makeup. It’s actually pretty amazing how much better you feel (and look) with full lashes!

Reason #4 — One word: SELFIES. Even if you hate selfies, the first thing you’ll want to do is pull out that phone and snap a selfie. If I’m wrong, I’ll pay you $50.

Reason #5 — You will never feel ugly in the gym. Or or at the beach. Or ever.

Ok, so now I’ve sparked your interest. Let’s discuss some concerns. . .

How much does it cost?
I’d be a big fat liar if I told you they were affordable. They’re actually pretty effing expensive ($200-$500). But for an event, or for those who have serious eyelash concerns, they are 100% worth it. Brides, YOU NEED THEM. So much better than fake eyelashes!

How long do they last?
The extensions are glued to each individual lash. So when your eyelash falls out, the extension goes with it. The lifespan of an eyelash is typically 30-45 days, so after about two weeks you’ll begin to notice some thinning.

So how freakin’ often do I have to get these things?
Once you get a full set, depending on how OCD you are about taking care of them, you’ll need a fill ($50-$80) about every two weeks.

How long does it take?
A full set takes about two hours, and a fill takes about an hour.

Can they get wet?
Yes, but you have to wait at least 24 hours once they’re applied. And when you do shower, or wash your face, you have to blow dry the little suckers. Sounds like a total pain, but it’s not too bad. It’s kind of relaxing. And it takes five seconds.

Are they safe?
YES, if you go to a credible salon where the lashes are applied with medical-grade glue. Remember, you get what you pay for. I get mine done at The Lash Lounge, and they are incredible! Also, I’m dating an eye doctor. So if it wasn’t safe, I wouldn’t be allowed to do it. 🙂

Will they ruin your natural lashes?
No. I’ve heard a few people complain that their natural lashes aren’t as full when they stop getting the extensions. But they always grow back to normal. Don’t let that scare you away.

Now, a few tips I’ve learned through experience. . .

Tip #1 — If you’re serious about lashes, you need this:

The Longer Life Coating Sealer is a game changer. It protects the glue from your sweat, soap, lotion, sunscreen, etc. It made a night-and-day difference for me!

Tip #2 — Try not to rub your eyes. If my eyes itch, I just put my finger right underneath my lower lash line, and lightly scratch. That usually does the trick.

Tip #3 — Keep your moisturizer away from your top lash line.

Tip #4 — Use the little lash brush they give you. It works! I use it when I blow dry them.

Tip #5 — Blow dry them from the bottom. You want them to curl upward.

If you have any other questions or concerns I forgot to cover, comment below! I’ll do my best to help a sister out. 😉
