Is The Apple Watch Worth Your Money?

So you either clicked on this post because you’re cool as shit and you always read my blog, you liked the featured image and wanted to see it bigger, or you really want to know if the Apple Watch is worth a damn.

If you’re grouped with the latter, lemme tell you, it’s definitely worth your money. But only if you reeeeeeally care about fitness goals. Otherwise, it’s just an iPhone on your wrist that takes your heart rate by using photoplethysmography. (More on that technology here.)

Unless of course you want to feel like Kim Possible, then purchasing an Apple Watch is a NO BRAINER. #callmebeepmeifyawannareachme

Love my sports bra? You can purchase one here. And it’s on sale!

Ok, back to the watch.

So what’s my favorite part about the watch? Hands down, all of the fitness-tracking capabilities. It has made me push myself further during my workouts; and I find myself constantly trying to break yesterday’s “record.” I’m competing with myself. And y’all…that’s how it should be!

I’ve been looking into purchasing a heart-rate monitor for the past year or so, but the Apple Watch does the job. And it does the job well.

So, second favorite thing — being able to answer phone calls on my watch. And feeling like a superhero. 😉

I can text on the watch too, but only by audio or automated response. I can’t actually type out a text. Still cool, though. I use it often; it’s faster than responding back on my phone.

The watch syncs with my phone through bluetooth; so in order to receive calls and texts, my phone has to be nearby. And it (the watch) tells me when I’m out of syncing range.

Yes, the watch has Siri; and yes, the watch has Apple Pay. There’s just really not a lot this watch can’t do.

And for some reason, my clients are most impressed when I change the song that’s playing from my watch. It’s the little things…

Since the watch doesn’t track sleep, I don’t sleep in it. I let it charge overnight; and put it on first thing in the a.m. And for those curious, the charger is about the size of a quarter. You just lay the watch on top, and let it do its thing.

So is the Apple Watch worth YOUR money?

  • Love the post about the watch, and glad to hear about it from a fit pro. But regarding something else.. Have you hear of the Ringly? If so, what’s your take on it? Obviously it doesn’t play the park like the Apple watch, but I find the femine aspect impressive. It’s a dangle between the two!

    • Jess, I have heard of the Ringly. I think they’re so fun! I’m curious to know exactly how they work though. I almost want to order one just so I can see how they work. Ha! But as far as looks go, they’re definitely way more feminine than the Apple Watch. I just don’t think they can do quite as much? Xo

  • Love it and love the watch! Just got one and not sure how I lived without it! Sleep++ app tracks sleep and keeps track in the health app. I wear mine at night too and charge before bed and while I get ready in the am. Just wanted to share in case you wanted that element ?! Love you sweet cousin!

    • Sarah, thank you SO much for the info! I downloaded the app; and I’ll be tracking my sleep tonight. So excited to know about this! Thank you for reading. 🙂 Love you!! Xo
