Ladies and gentleman, I have discovered a Godsend. Ok, I didn’t actually discover it, but I tried it for the first time this week. And OMG, y’all…this place is every busy person’s dream.
I couldn’t help but smile when I walked in to Healthy Meals To Go last Sunday. It was crawling with single men, busy moms, and health-concious peeps too lazy to cook (me). The employees were extremely helpful; they were knowledgable, and were able to give great suggestions.
This little slice of heaven even delivers! All you have to do is call to set it up. I mean, really? It’s a healthy alternative to fast food; and everything in the store is gluten free and diabetic friendly.
One look in their big fridge, and I went straight for the stuffed french toast. Duh.
Each meal has detailed nutritional info + a calorie count.
Here’s the stuffed french toast and sausage before I nuked it in the microwave. (That is a little cup of honey, FYI.)
And here it is all warmed up. Yes, it tasted as good as it looks.
I’m a sucker for salads; so I bought the spinach salad and the big Greek salad. I had the spinach salad Tuesday night for dinner, and it was way better than I was expecting.
I don’t even like beets, but the beets made the salad. So yum. (I didn’t warm mine, I ate it chilled.)
Spinach, beets, mushrooms, onions, and goat cheese. Yes. And, bleu cheese dressing ftw.
Out of all three meals I bought to try for the week, the big Greek salad was my absolute favorite.
Lemon shrimp, purple onions, black olives, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, cucumbers, my mouth is drooling, I want it now.
I put the feta cheese dressing on top (they have several options to choose from) and it was divine!
The whole salad, dressing and all, was 210 calories. And it was filling!
This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship, Healthy Meals To Go; I’ll be seeing you again REAL soon! Xo
Stay fit, friends!
