One of the most difficult parts of staying in shape is eating right. If we could all eat burgers, fries, ice cream and cookies, and still look good, the world would just be a better place. But since that will never happen, I do my best to keep it fit, but fun, in the kitchen.
Due to my sister being a famous chef someday soon, my family is probably laughing at the fact I’m posting a recipe; but I’ve made great strides en la cocina, comprende? 😉
And I would like you all to note: this salmon recipe impressed her. So, you most certainly should try it for yourself! This salmon is easy, delicious and most importantly, impressive.
First, line a baking sheet with foil.
Next, set your salmon filet atop the foil. (Beautiful color, isn’t it?) — Make sure to ask for the freshest salmon they have at the market!
*Side note: It’s not necessary to wash your salmon before cooking it.
Now, drizzle your salmon with extra-virgin olive oil; and make sure to cover the whole filet. Squeeze half a lemon all over your salmon; and then follow with Susie Q’s Original Santa Maria Valley Style Seasoning. (This stuff is magic, trust me.) Lastly, but definitely not least, sprinkle with dill weed.
Put your seasoned filet in a cold oven. Set the temperature to 400; and then bake for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes, you will have the most deliciously flakey salmon you’ve ever had. Seriously, it’s yummy. And it looks like you know what you’re doing in the kitchen even if you don’t. AND it’s good for you. Everybody wins!
Ingredients:
-1 lb. fresh Atlantic Salmon (feeds one skinny girl and a very hungry man)
-About 3 tbs. extra virgin olive oil (enough to cover all of your salmon)
-The juice of 1 lemon half
-1 & 1/2 tsp. Susie Q’s Original Santa Maria Valley Style Seasoning
-A few dashes of dill weed (I like a lot, but a dash will do if you’re not a dill-lover)
Instructions:
Prepare your baking sheet by covering it in foil; and then set your salmon atop the foil. (Your salmon should not be frozen.) Drizzle the olive oil over the salmon, followed by the freshly-squeezed lemon juice. Add your Susie Q’s seasoning, and then your dill weed. Place your baking sheet in a cold oven. Set the temperature to 400 degrees, and bake for 25 minutes.
Now, enjoy the ooh’s and aah’s from your family and friends; or just bask in your own cooking glory.
