Ok, DFW friends — I’ve got another fun opportunity for all of you; and it’s for an AWESOME cause!
Saturday, November 7, Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group is hosting their second annual Run With The Troops 5K to benefit the non-profit organization Operation Once in a Lifetime. The 5-kilometer race course is located in Bicentennial Park at 450 West Southlake Blvd, in Southlake, Texas. And for those with little ones, there will be a 1-mile kids’ fun run on a USATF certified course.
Run With The Troops 5K will give you a chance to run alongside past and current military personnel; how cool is that? You’ll also have the option of supporting a specific branch of the military by running cadence with a branch of your choice. Various service members from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines will be on hand to lead cadence in a formation run.
Last year, 700 runners and walkers signed up for the event; and this year they’re aiming for 1000 registrations. To up the ante, there will be a live drawing for a 1969 Chevy Camaro with an original motor. A limited amount of raffle tickets are available now for $20 each, with all proceeds benefitting Operation Once in a Lifetime.
Registration for the run is open; and early-bird rates are available until October 30.
