First things first, I am THRILLED to be the newest Sweat Pink Ambassador for Fit Approach! Such a fabulous and inspiring group of women. Check ’em out here.
Today’s challenge is the perfect way to warm up because it is freeeezing outside. I realize most of you will not be sitting in front of the TV watching child-like Christmas movies on a Friday night, but you can still fit these exercises in. Give yourself at least 30 minutes of fit-time today. You and your body deserve it!
First up, we’ve got planks and push-ups. There’s nothing like a plank to make you realize how big of a badass you are. And yes, you are a badass. Just simply reading my blog makes you a badass. 😉
Full Plank: Get in prone position with feet and hands shoulder-width apart. Keep your back flat, your booty tucked, and your tummy tight.
Forearm Plank: Keep the exact same concept in mind for a forearm plank. But instead of using your hands for support, use your forearms. I like to keep my feet together for this one. **If this is too hard for you, try the plank with your knees on the ground.
Pushups: Get in the prone position, with hands and feet shoulder-width apart. Raise and lower your body using your arms. Remember to squeeze your core.
Next up, arms. Arm circles and arm raises. You’re just building endurance to take down all those Christmas decorations next month. (Yep, one step ahead of you, girlfriend).
Arm Circles: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Holding 5 lb. dumbbells, lift your arms straight out and make small, circular motions; first clockwise and then counter-clockwise.
Horizontal Arm Raises: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, and bend your knees slightly. Holding your 5 lb. dumbbells, palms facing inward, raise your arms out to your sides. Lower your arms back down, and repeat.
It has been so much fun hearing from everyone who is trying my challenge. Y’all are my inspiration. I hope you all have a FABULOUS Friday. Stay warm and stay fit!
