Beauty Products I Swear By

With extra-sensitive skin and OCD behavioral habits, changing up my beauty products is a rare occurrence. When I find something that works, and doesn’t make my skin break out in some out-of-control hive-ish rash, I stick to it. Plain and simple. Unless I find something cheaper, or better-smelling (I’m a sucker for good-smelling cheap stuff), my products remain the same.

But…with that being said, what I use works. And it works well. This post isn’t necessarily about makeup, it’s more about what I use on a day-to-day basis. Girly products that everyone might not know about, but should know about. So here they are, my deep, dark secrets…

Beauty Products | Fit is Chic

Nothing too fancy, right? I swear by every one of these products. I use them every single day; without fail. And when I find something better, obviously I’ll be filling you in. But for now, this is it, my friends.

1. Static Guard
I’d like to see the look on your face right now. It probably looks a little like my boyfriend’s face the first time I pulled my bottle of Static Guard out in front of him. Shocked? Confused? WTF is that? Living in a dry climate, with A LOT of thick hair, static electricity is not my friend. Like seriously, she’s a bitch. I can’t get on a treadmill without getting shocked 10 million times; and I consider clothes that “cling” one of my biggest pet peeves. So if you suffer from static-y hair and clothes all.the.time. (like me), this stuff will be your saving grace. You can buy it at any grocery store, Target, Walmart, etc.; and you’ll find it in the laundry aisle. Or, you can order it online here.

2. Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant (Sport Scent)
So here’s the deal with this stuff…it smells SO good. Not that weird powder-y deodorant-y smell. Fresh, light and sporty. Just how I like it. I workout all day long, and it lasts from 7 a.m. to when I shower at night. Bonus: boyfriend thinks it’s perfume he’s smelling when he gets a whiff. Noooooope, it’s deodorant babe. (Shh, don’t tell him.) 😉 Here’s a link for coupon info;  and if you want to order it online, click here.

3. CLEAN’s Eau de Toilette Rollerball (Skin Scent)
Yes, you read that correctly. The scent is called skin. Designed specifically to smell like skin fresh out of the shower. YUM. Keep this little rollerball in your gym bag or purse. It’s the perfect amount of fresh scent to make you feel less disgusting after a workout. You can buy it here.

4. C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve No. 012
I have used this rose salve since junior high. I use it on my lips, my cuticles, and when my elbows start to peel from planks, it works great for that too. I usually buy mine at Bath and Body Works, but you can buy it online here, too.

5. Batiste Dry Shampoo
I could not live without this stuff. I have tried every dry shampoo out there, and this is hands-down the best. Better than the fancy expensive brands, better than baby powder, it’s the best.  I’ve used every scent, and they all smell good…except the cherry. I don’t do cherry. I just recently tried the blonde version, and it’s my new favorite. No weird tint or smell; it’s great! A few months ago, a friend mentioned she used the brunette version and loved it. So there ya go, brunettes; you’re in luck too. Ulta has the best selection, or you can buy it online here.

6. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer SPF 20 w/ Dermaxylâ„¢ Complex
This primer is a step-up from the one I mentioned in my Post-Workout Beauty Routine. I wear it alone simply for the SPF benefits. It smooths out my skin and protects it from the sun. You can order yours here.

Are there any products you think I should add to this list? I’d love to hear about them!

Enjoy your weekend; and stay fit, friends. Xo

Love, Mattie Claire
