After posting my first client-progress picture with all of you, the feedback was pretty incredible. I can talk (write) until I’m blue in the face, but until you see it with your own eyes, my words are just words…am I right? No shame in that; I’m the same way. We are visual beings, and proof leads to trust.
I receive lots of messages, emails and texts every single day with questions. Questions about working out, questions about my beauty regiment, hair questions, stress questions, food questions, man questions…lots of questions. And I love it! I LOVE being able to help, and I really love gaining readers’ trust. That’s a big deal for a blogger!
A month ago, I received an email that did not include one single question. It was the most open, honest and refreshing email I’ve ever received. She simply stated who she was, how she knew me, and how intimidated she felt. She even admitted to being surprised with herself that she actually emailed me. She mentioned her upcoming wedding, and her willingness to physically commit to getting in shape.
I had to read and re-read the email five or six times before I could gather my thoughts. This girl was intimidated? What? She’s beautiful, kind and smart! What the heck is she intimidated by? And then I remembered…the fear of the unknown.
I was scared I wasn’t going to have the discipline it took to utilize a real trainer, but after seeing your client’s progress pic, I knew I was just making excuses for myself.
Sound familiar? How many times have you put off something for fear of not being able to execute? We’re all guilty.
Like most people, I’m the type of person who wants results immediately. I was scared I’d give up on myself when I didn’t have a six pack within a week, and I would waste your time and my money.
There it is,Β the fear of the unknownΒ —Β An unfortunate anomaly affecting each and every one of us.
Before her first day of training, I asked her to send me her short-term goals regarding personal training, and what she hoped to achieve. In an effort to keep some privacy, I won’t disclose all of the details. But let me tell you…she is KILLIN’ it y’all. And here’s the proof:
Words can’t even begin to describe how proud this picture makes me. She shows up every afternoon, with a huge smile on her face, ready to kick ass. The way she pushes through every circuit (no matter how hard) is inspiration at its finest.
My favorite part is the moment I can tell I’ve gotten faster and better at something. Like push-ups…they don’t take near as long as they used to!
I’ll second that. Her progress with push-ups is pretty damn impressive!
She has been able to achieve this in a little over two weeks, with 30 minutes of training, four days a week. I can’t wait to see what she achieves between now and her wedding. She is going to be one HOT bride! π
Impressed by her results? Make sure to leave her some motivation and encouragement in a comment below.
