WARNING: This post will make you extremely hungry; proceed with caution…
As most of you know, I spent the latter half of last week in Los Angeles, California; and it was fabulous. Although I’ve been to LA several times, and it’s fabulous every time, something about this little trip was extra-fabulous.
For once, the constant struggle of trying to look perfect went flyyyyying out the window. I guess something magical happens when you turn 25. You stop trying to impress the entire population with perfect-ness. Because really, NOBODY is perfect.
So with my naturally-wavy hippie hair and barely-there makeup, I ate my way through Los Angeles. HA! Not really, but we did enjoy some incredible food.
If you love sushi-type restaurants, and you’re ever in LA, I definitely suggest Nobu. It was honestly the best sushi I’ve ever had. Super pricey, but worth it, in my opinion.
I can’t go to LA without eating at my very favorite restaurant in California, The Ivy. There isn’t one thing on the menu I wouldn’t eat. Seriously, this place is to die for. If you’re ever there, ask to sit outside so you can people watch.
You may or may not spot a celeb or two.
Fresh flowers are always on the table; I think it’s probably one of the reasons I love this restaurant so much. And as usual, my breakfast was amazing.
Let me take a quick break from this food porn for 5 seconds and tell you about my Beverly Hills-gym experience… So I walk in to the gym, take a quick look around, and I couldn’t help but literally giggle out loud. Every girl in there looked like she’d stepped out of a fitness magazine; blond, bronzed and toned. Talk about some serious fitspiration! But luckily, I blended right in with my incognito fitness apparel. FYI, you can never go wrong in all black.
Back to the food…
After discovering a certain famous bakery was within walking distance to the hotel, I threw my bag over my shoulder and booked it to Magnolia Bakery. This bakery started in New York, with one location in LA. They’re famous for their banana pudding, and oh. my. god. it will change your life. Just go ahead and add this bakery to your bucket list; you won’t regret it. I wish I would’ve taken more pictures of the cakes they had on display, because they were beautiful.
If you know me, you know I was in heaven.
Due to my over-active sweet tooth, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I can order something sweet, and it’s totally acceptable. Check out these Cinnamon Walnut Pancakes I had from Toast Bakery Cafe…
Yea, I know. I’m dying too.
From one imperfect woman to another, don’t ever forget to enjoy the little things in life. Because in the end, that’s what you’ll remember. When you’re 80 years-old, you’re not going to remember some workout you did on vacation. You will remember the aroma of fresh flowers you enjoyed while eating french toast in West Hollywood. So remember to give yourself a break, and enjoy life. Xo
