What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Seattle? If it’s rain, I was right there with you… Until last weekend.
My first trip to Seattle couldn’t have been any more perfect. The weather was wonderful — a very welcomed break from the Texas heat. And we didn’t see a drop of rain the entire time. Very un-Seattle like, right?!
Our first day was great. Honestly, one of the best days I’ve ever had. We started with breakfast at Lowell’s. (The food was ok, but the view was five star for sure!)
And then we explored Pike Place Market until our feet hurt. 🙂

Watching the guys handle the fish was ever bit as entertaining as everyone makes it out to be, just FYI. And the flowers. OMG the flowers.
We had to check out Rachel’s Ginger Beer while we were there. (It’s a hop, skip and a jump from the market.) RGB had tooooons of different flavored ginger beer on tap; and bottled ginger beer ready to buy. Such a fun concept!
If you’re like us, and need a break from the tourist crowd, I HIGHLY recommend Serious Pie for lunch or dinner. We tried it Thursday night, and OMG. I’m kicking myself right now for not taking any pictures. That’s how hungry I was. Ha! If you go, try the Truffle Cheese and Mushroom. You will not be disappointed.
Friday night was SO much fun. If you love trying little local dive bars, Hooverville is where it’s at, y’all. And for a great baseball pre-game party, you HAVE to visit Henry’s (on the patio). We loved it! And we LOVED catching a game at SafeCo field. PSA: If you don’t want to be on TV, don’t sit behind the dugout. 😉 #GoAstros
Saturday, we tried Six Seven for brunch. The view was incredible! If you go, request to sit outside. They have heaters. And you’ll literally sit on top of the water. It’s fabulous.
We took a quick walk through Olympic Sculpture Park; and like the rest of Seattle, the views were beautiful.
We took a brewery tour Saturday afternoon, and it was a blast. Road Dog Tours was THE BEST! Seriously, they’re awesome. I would go back just to do another tour.
The tour was three hours, and we visited three different breweries. Hilliard’s was first…
Followed by Outlander… (This brewery was a 100-year-old house!)
And lastly, was Bad Jimmy’s. Our favorite.
Thank you again, Dustin! We had a great time!Â
After the tour, we had just enough time to go to The Ballard Locks. And I’m so glad we did. Seriously cool shit.
If you love boats, this is a must-see/do!
We ended the night at Ray’s Boathouse. And it was amazing. Views, food, service…everything was top notch!
We sat out on the deck. Best decision ever.
So many friends have asked,
What was the highlight of your trip?
And that’s a tough question to answer. Because honestly, I loved it all.
Traveling makes my heart happy. Seeing new places, and experiencing new things is such a blessing; and I’m grateful for the opportunities. <3
