If you love a good fitness transformation story (WITH pictures), you’re in for a treat today, my friends.
It’s no secret, I’ve always asked my clients to pretttyyyy please take “before” pics, because I love sharing their progress and stories. Whether they like to admit it or not, it’s motivating. For them, for me, and for all of you reading this little blog.
Although some of them choose to keep their training progress completely private, there’s a few who don’t mind sharing it all. The good, the bad, AND the ugly. And today, you get to read it first-hand!
My sweet client, who has stuck with me for two years now, has graciously offered her words of advice. So without further ado, meet Mallory. . .

When I started with Mattie two years ago, I didn’t know her, and I didn’t know what to expect. I just thought I would train with her for a month or two, just to kick-start getting back into shape. Little did I know, six months later, I would be in the best shape I had been in since high school.
Then, a year later, life happened. I moved for a minute, then ended up moving back. I took six months off from training, and holy crap can six months make a difference (for the worse)! Not only was I back to being out of shape, but I was the heaviest I’d ever been. But don’t worry, Mattie whipped me right back into shape!
I always knew that just working out was never going to be enough to get my body where I wanted it to be. So in January, I FINALLY made the decision to start eating healthier, too. Since then, I have lost 20 pounds; and I’m still losing. I have big goals, but I have attainable goals. I’m not trying to lose 60 pounds in three months. I want to lose it the right way, the healthy way, so I’m more likely to keep it off. I want to make a lifestyle change, and Mattie has helped me take the first steps to making that happen. And she continues to help me…
I didn’t want to be unrealistic, and I think that’s why I’ve been able to stick with it this time. I’m 24, I like to go out and have fun. So, I still drink beer. I just try not to drink it as often.
I’m not going to lie and say I’m always excited to go workout, because some days I just don’t want to f*ing do it. But, that’s why training with Mattie helps me. I know those three days out of the week I HAVE to show up; and for the most part, I want to. It’s kind of like my therapy time.
I don’t want to be THAT person who posts on social media every time they workout because let’s be real, I’m no workout/fitness guru! So to hold myself accountable (and to get some recognition for my hard work) I always snap Mattie; and she always makes me feel like a badass!
I do get mad at myself because I always think I could do better, I could be better, but I’ve been trying to change that lately. I’m trying to take it all day by day; and honestly, I’m really proud of myself for the progress I’ve made. I made a decision to make a change, and I’m going to freaking DO IT.
I think it’s been easier to stick with it this time because I’m doing it for myself. I’m not doing it to look better (I mean that’s definitely a perk!), but I’m doing it to feel better about myself. I’m doing it to be more confident, and to be a happier me. And I can already see and feel the changes.
Mattie is so supportive. She doesn’t make me feel bad if I have an off day, but she does make me feel good about myself when I have a good day. I don’t know what it is, but she is just one of those people who makes you want to do better! So thank you Mattie, you have helped and inspired me more than you’ll know!
