So it’s October (wtf, how is it already October?!), the weather is cooler, you pull your favorite jeans out of the back of your closet, you slip them on, and halfway up your thighs…they get stuck.
Why God? Why me? Where did this extra pudge come from?!
It’s a soul-crushing feeling. A feeling worthy of a full-blown ugly cry. And it takes every fiber of your being to not grab the scissors and cut up all of your clothes.
DON’T YOU DO IT. DON’T CUT THOSE CLOTHES. YOU WILL FIT BACK INTO THEM.
I feel you though, sister. Whether it’s 5 extra pounds or 25 extra pounds. We have ALL been there. And it sucks. But that does not mean it’s time to start listening to that evil little voice in the back of your mind telling you you’re doomed forever.
Negative, babe. You’re NOT doomed. You just hit a little speed bump. Not to worry. Just do yourself a favor, and block out that evil voice. Don’t listen to those lies!
5 Lies You Need To Stop Telling Yourself:
I cannot lose weight. It won’t come off. It literally will not budge.
Ask yourself these five questions: Am I eating less than 2500 calories a day? Am I eating foods that are making me bloat? Am I eating foods beneficial to my health? Am I getting my heart rate above 100 at least 15 minutes per day? Am I sleeping enough? If you are doing everything right (to the best of your knowledge/ability), the weight WILL come off. But it takes effort. And it takes time. Remember my post about eating for the body you want next month? Be patient.
I can’t go to the gym; I have no idea what I’m doing.
Refer to one of my previous posts regarding this issue. You DO know what you are doing. Don’t you ever let that gym intimidate you. Remember, everyone in there is only worried about themselves. True story. Plus, I have several workouts you can try at the gym: Treadmill Burnout Workout, Run Baby, Run Treadmill Workout, 20-Minute Elliptical Workout just to name a few.
My cellulite is disgusting; and everyone is staring at it.
I have been struggling with this so hard lately. It’s my latest body complex. But no matter how hard I hit the gym, that shit ain’t goin’ NO. WHERE. It’s genetic. My sweet friends and family tell me it’s not there, but let’s be real…I know it’s there. And I’m learning to be ok with it. I’m embracing it; and accepting that I cannot change it. And you should do the same. Embrace those God-given “flaws,” girl!
I have to eat a gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, caveman-esque diet to be healthy.
No. No you absolutely do not. Unless you are allergic to something, you do not have to cut any food groups completely out of your diet. Balance is key here, my friends.
I have no motivation.
Girl, stop. Go back in that closet and put those $200 too-tight jeans on. Bottle up that frustration, and drink it every time you lose your motivation.
Stay fit, friends! Xo

LOVE this encouragement! I have to say–you are beautiful(inside & out) and way too young to have any serious cellulite so ENJOY your “be you tiful” self:))) It doesn’t get any easier as you age…….
Thank you for your kind words! And thank you for reading. 🙂
Right on the money; every word! ❤️
XOXO
Your writing really sucks and is purely opinionated! Plus you only speak to a certain type of audience, not an everyday woman who can not afford 200$ jeans, or an Apple Watch. You make no sense! Use your degree and do something useful besides making lame blog posts.
wow! What an unnessecary comment! ^^^ I love your blog by the way and every word in this post were great tips!
Thank you so much, Shamira. I appreciate your kind words! <3
So great! I needed to hear this. I’ve hit a plateau in my fitness – working hard to eat right and do my cardio and weights but results are stalling. Thanks for the pick me up! Never give up 🙂
You can do it! Keep up the hard work, Jennifer! Xo
